An Unexpected Surprise

The most important thing I am taking with me is that yoga is holistic.

Although I would consider myself very rational and spiritual, until fairly recently (last few years) I was more invested in the physical benefits of yoga. This course has absolutely opened my eyes that while the physical part can have great benefits to the emotional and mental self, it is really rooted in a belief system.

In just 6 months, I am already practicing greater kindness to myself, and a slightly more sense of calm throughout my life. This one thing I wanted to achieve and to even have done so partially feels like a great accomplishment.

An equally important thing I am taking with me are my new friends. When I signed up for the craft, making new friends appeared nowhere on my list. I already feel stressed with work travel, having my immediate family in four different states across the country and best friends all over the world.

But, my new friends (who are really family now) was such an unexpected surprise and one of the greatest things I will take with me. They kept me motivated, kept me laughing and gave me more wisdom than I could explain in writing. They are living treasures.
